Course Outline

This three-day class combines a comprehensive theoretical overview with intensive hands-on experience to prepare you for Xsan 2 integrations of any size or configuration. The course covers Xsan components, requirements, topologies, and installation challenge, and provides dedicated time with a system for you to explore implementation from component setup and connection to software installation and configuration.

Who Should Attend

This class is designed for system administrators, network engineers, resellers, Apple field employees working with Pro Apps, and technicians working in a post house, studio, or facility who are responsible for analyzing business and technical requirements and architecting, implementing, or maintaining storage networking solutions using the Xsan solution.

Prerequisites

Controlling User Access, POSIX and ACLs, and Xsan Quotas

Day 3

Volume Management

Affinities, Increasing Storage, and Safe Shutdown and Startup

Pro Apps Workflows

File System Allocation Strategies for Various Video Formats, and Workflow Experiments with Final Cut Studio

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Monitoring SAN status, Command Line Interface, and Common SAN Troubleshooting Techniques
