Course Description
This three-day class guides you through administering Final Cut Server, Apple's powerful new media asset management and workflow automation software. Final Cut Server takes the headache out of managing large collections of media files, then extends to tracking job status, managing reviews and approvals, and automating complex sequences of tasks all in a single product designed to work seamlessly with Final Cut Studio. The course combines of lectures and hands-on case study exercises to provide practical real-world experience.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed to provide the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to those who are responsible for implementing and maintaining Final Cut Server systems. It is appropriate for system administrators, technical coordinators, resellers, Apple field employees working with Pro Apps, and technicians working in a post house, studio, or other large facility. This course is not intended for end users who will not be required to administer Final Cut Server.

Prerequisites
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
- Understanding of Mac OS X in a network environment
- Basic troubleshooting experience or Mac OS X Support Essentials v10.5
- Thorough knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Studio
- ACSA status or Xsan knowledge helpful

This course covers the knowledge necessary to become an Apple Certified Pro, Level One in Final Cut Server. Level One certification is granted upon successful completion of the Final Cut Server, Level One exam. Apple Authorized Training Centers offer this exam either as part of the course or separately.
This certification also counts towards Apple Certified Media Administrator certification, which verifies in-depth knowledge of Xsan architecture, including an ability to install and configure systems, architect and maintain networks, customize and troubleshoot services, and integrate Mac OS X, Final Cut Server, and other Apple technologies within an Xsan installation.
